The Tulsa Race Massacre, a two-part series at the Newark Public Library
In the ongoing recognition of untold histories and the struggle for racial equality, we invite you to join us for this important film and discussion series. The landmark PBS documentary, Tulsa, the Fire and the Forgotten, will be shown on April 14th at 6:00 p.m. On April 28th, also at 6:00 p.m., there will be a book discussion on the Tulsa Race Massacre. There will be two choices of books to read for the discussion, and they will be made available for you to borrow on April 14th during the documentary showing: The Ground Breaking by Scott Ellsworth, or Black Birds in the Sky by Brandy Colbert. This program is being presented as part of Black History Month in a Year, a collaborative partners project in Wayne County. Join us for more lifelong learning towards equity.
